Why should I outsource/delegate my tasks? (My Personal Opinion)

Let’s start with a basic fact that – “Time is relative.”

Depending on how you think about it, time is not just a simple clock on your home ticking one second at a time.

But time has to depend on something. It has to be relative to a thing. Right?

Let’s take an example, suppose a powerful being come into existence one day and grants everyone immortality.

Now you would never die and age after a certain point.

What would be the value of time for you then? Don’t you think that time would then be meaningless?

You might then continue doing your task for a lifetime without worrying about your limited time.

You would then won’t have a mortal body, to begin with.

You would fulfill more promises, would then get more things done.

But sadly, we might never be immortal, at least not in our lifetime.

For now, the average age of our mortal body is 82 years, which is equal to 7,18,320 hours.

If tomorrow, the average age of a human body would increase to 100 years, then that would become our limited time.

And also, you have to consider the fact, by the time you are 25 years of age, you would have already spent 2,19,000 hours.

Then you would only have left around 7,18,320 hours (80 Years) – 2,19,000 hours (25 Years) = 4,99,320 hours in your lifetime.

So, when people say things like “I don’t have time.”. They are implying that they don’t want to use their mortal body to deal with your shit.

Think of it this way if we became immortal, time gets meaningless.

But since we will always be a mortal being, doesn’t that means that time is relative to our body aging bit by bit.

Let that sink in for a bit…

Now, you might ask that what’s the point of talking about this in outsourcing?

Well, I am glad that you asked. 🙂

Let’s take an example…

Suppose you want a website for your business.

But instead of outsourcing it, you decided to build it on your own.

You spent hours to learn website building, perfecting each line of text, perfecting your design and color.

After spending, let’s say, 100 hours, your website is finally ready, and you learned a lot on how to build a website.

But in the process, you also lost 100 hours.

You would only left with 4,99,320 hours – 100 hours = 4,99,220 hours in your lifetime.

Plus body would have also aged by 100 hours.

And your website might not still be good enough to make it public.

An expert website developer might have taken only 48-72 hours building your website. And you would be assured of the quality also.

Plus, by the time those experts would have finished making your website, you might have spent your precious time or use your mortal body on other useful tasks.

Tasks that would have helped you grow your business, and only YOU can do it.

So, instead of spending 100 hours building your website, you could have just outsourced it.

The same goes for any other tasks like cooking, cleaning, social media posting.

Every task needs some amount of time from your mortal body.

Your body is always aging, no matter what you are doing. You are getting old by each second, and no one can stop that, not even God.

Take control of your mortal body.

Start outsourcing some of your tasks today, which doesn’t help you grow your business directly.

Try to do only 20% of all the tasks, which will help you get 80% of all the revenue.

And outsource the rest.

What do you think about outsourcing your tasks? Comment your thoughts below.

How to learn marketing in a better way while getting paid? (Digital Deepak Internship Review 2020)

There’s a common misconception that to learn digital marketing you need to join a digital marketing institute, spend thousands of rupees in fees, and need to wait 2-3 years before you start earning.

I have seen digital marketing institute charging around Rs.50K+, just to teach plain tactics and skills.

That’s why I am writing this content to let you know a better way of learning digital marketing while getting paid for it. This will help you grow as a marketer and help you do stuff that you have never thought of doing before in leveling up your digital marketing skills.

Now, there’s a preconceived notion among many people that you have to go to a costly institute to learn any skill. Many depend on these institutes to get all the learning material and even depend on them to get a job.

It may be the right thing to do before the internet came. But in this digital era, things are moving at 10X speed now. By the time you graduate from a digital marketing institute, most of the concepts might get outdated and most institutes can’t keep up with the changes.

Surely, there’s a better way right? well, there is – Digital Deepak Internship.

So, first, who is Digital Deepak?

Well, according to Google – “Deepak Kanakaraju, usually known as “Digital Deepak” in the industry is a Blogger, Speaker & Trainer in the Digital Marketing field. He has more than 10 years experience in Digital Marketing and is the co-founder of PixelTrack Digital. He blogs about digital marketing at DigitalDeepak.com. “

This is a no brainer that someone who is having over 10 years of experience and also running a great agency called PixelTrack, is definitely much better equipped to teach you the skills required to become a great marketer.

But this is not the only reason why I am recommending Digital Deepak Internship. The internship itself has a unique concept of rewarding those who are taking action.

This means that if you complete all the tasks on time then you might get some money back and may even get a chance to earn more than what you paid for. The actual amount may vary from batches to batches.

But there’s not a single Digital marketing institute in India and probably in the whole world, which will give your money back for the action you take.

Many institutes will simply take your money while promising you job placement. And many still don’t provide the “promised” job also.

But Deepak really keeps up his promise and gives you cash back on completion and I am the living proof here.

So, how it all works?

First, you need to apply for the internship by filling this form. Seats are limited per batch, so, apply fast.

After that, you will get a notification in your email about the dates of the internship webinar. In this webinar, Deepak or one of his team member will explain to you about the internship program and give you enough reason on why you need to apply to the internship.

They will also reveal the internship fee and total cashback you will get during the internship period. Then they will provide you with the payment link to pay the fee there.

The webinar happens usually 10-15 days before the internship starts.

Then when the internship starts, they will ask you for your UPI ID. This will get you excited as on signup they will transfer a small amount to your bank account to get you into action mode.

Now, enough about the pre-internship work. Let’s talk about the actual internship…

In the first week, Deepak talks about Success Mindset.

This section is not about marketing per se, but more about growing as a human being and changing your behavior to get ultimate success.

Here, Deepak talks about how it is important to track all things, talks about food, personality tests (like 16personalities.com ), and how you can dream big.

A success mindset is about everything you can do as a human being to achieve your dream goal.

Then come the second week, where the real Marketing part starts.

Here, Deepak talks about the marketing fundamentals that you need to know before you even start digital marketing.

We have been doing marketing for ages and as human beings, we are used to being marketed in many different forms like billboards, print media, ads, etc.

Digital marketing is another new form of marketing but marketing fundamentals remain the same. We humans haven’t changed a bit in millions of years.

So, no matter which forms of marketing technology you are using, we are still marketing to the same old humans. And that’s what Deepak will teach.

The main marketing fundamentals you need to know before you start marketing.

Deepak will also touch upon the topics of economics, personal branding, and how it’s all connected to marketing.

And also the famous CATT formula will be taught to amplify your marketing result.

Now, let’s talk about the third week, where we learn about choosing a niche and researching keywords.

There’s a saying, “Don’t compete, dominate. Be the best in your field.”

And that’s where niche comes.

In this week, Deepak will tell you a better way to choose your niche and how you can dominate the niche.

Here, you will learn about tools to get started and review your niche.

You will learn the power of a creator and how you can become a T-shaped marketer.

Your life experiences define your niche. So, a combination of talent and passion with market needs decides your niche.

And Deepak will tell you the best way to go about it and know your niche.

This includes creating a Facebook community and understanding your audience.

You will also get to know how the power of creation can make you a god of your own work. And how you can enjoy your life by keeping creating content.

You will learn how to reach out to your customer avatar, understand their pain points deeply, and then finalize and master your niche.

Learning to dominate a niche is a great starting point for any marketer and as a human being.

And what I learned in the internship is that we can’t dominate everything in life but dominating a particular area/niche can help you live a fulfilled life.

After dominating your niche, you will also learn how to connect it to your personal brand and make it an identity of yourself to the world.

You might find this article (written by Deepak) interesting if you are interested in the personal branding stuff.

Now, here comes the fourth week 4, where actual learning of marketing techniques start – starting a WordPress blog.

One of the best things I liked about this internship is that Deepak is not only trying to teach techniques of digital marketing, that most institutes do but also trying to give his vast amount of experience as a marketer and human being, to teach from basic fundamentals.

When someone starts a journey as a marketer, the first thing that comes to mind is that you don’t need a website now.

But he gave a different perspective. Having a website will help you grow exponentially as a marketer because you are getting real-life practical experience from it.

When you build your own website, you create something. You will get to know the experience of setting up a real website and how to optimize it to get experience as a real marketer.

And Deepak did a great job of explaining the process of setting up a website. He comprehensively explained all the basic stuff needed to set up your first own WordPress website and start creating a blog.

Now, I understand some may not like the idea of spending money on domain/hosting in the beginning but trust me, it will be worth it.

Learning to create a WordPress website and setting up your own blog will give you immense experience as a marketer and grow your personal brand in the long term.

Deepak also teaches about a domain and hosting and how it’s all connected to a DNS server, to set up your WordPress website and start writing blogs on it.

You will also get to know about google analytics and how you can install a free theme on your WordPress website to get started.

This is the first week of the internship where you will get to learn about actual marketing techniques and it was totally worth the wait.

Next comes the fifth week – the content week, where you will learn to finally start writing content.

Here, Deepak will teach you how you can start creating content by first writing some blogs and then slowly becoming an authority in your niche.

You will get to know how you can start dominating your niche on the internet by start writing a blog.

A blog is mainly about writing your own experience on the internet from the knowledge you gain after reading and applying all kinds of materials.

And Deepak will tell you that how you can use your blog to get a potential customer to take a particular action you desire and grow your personal brand.

You will learn that how writing in a conversational tone is the best way to write a blog and how you can get inspired to write more on your blog.

You will also learn about repurposing your blog in different formats, so you will never run out of content materials on social media and other platforms.

Blogging is a slow process. It happens gradually. But I learned that it can be quite rewarding to keep creating your own content.

And this content creation week will teach you the best way to start creating content and grow your personal brand in the process.

Now, that you are done with content creation, here comes the sixth week – social media week.

In this week, Deepak will teach you how you can leverage social media to build your brand and gain more authority.

Unlike other marketing gurus, Deepak will not teach you techniques to gain 1000+ followers and become a social media expert.

Because it’s a hard fact that social media platforms own your followers and customer data. They can easily ban you or suspend your social account for doing something fishy unintentionally.

But this week is not about removing social media completely. Instead, Deepak will mainly teach you how you can leverage the reach and followers of social media to grow your brand and invite your most interested followers into your closed group.

Social media is a great channel to leverage if you know how to convert your follower into paying customers or your loyal fan.

Now, after social media, at seventh week, comes the part which is the most important for any business or marketers – Lead Generation.

As you know that without leads, no businesses can survive. So, this week Deepak will teach you about some of the best ways to generate leads and get them on the call with you.

Here, Deepak will teach about creating lead magnets, CATT (content attention, trust, and transaction) funnel, and how you can leverage it to generate leads.

You will also get to know about B2B leads and how it is different from B2C leads.

You will then get to learn that you can do outreach to the proper type of customers to get leads.

And also which type of leads actually require the use of funnel (Hint: Many extreme cases of leads don’t actually need a funnel. In that case, you have to either do full-on marketing or outreach to them directly).

So, Deepak will not only teach you tools and techniques to approach the right lead but also will tell you which technique to use when, while doing outreach for lead generation.

If you want some glimpse of lead generation, then check out this 3 hours video on lead generation here.

Now comes the eighth week, where he talks about SEO (Search engine optimization).

Here, also, unlike other marketers, Deepak will take you through fundamentals and will teach how that how SEO actually works.

You might get inspired to make your own search engine also (let me know if you did 🙂 ).

He will teach you that how Google (like any other search engines) search the web for information and provide you with relevant results.

And how you can take that knowledge of working of Google and use it as an added advantage to rank your blogs or website in google for free.

Many tend to neglect SEO but SEO is one of the most important things to learn as it gives you free traffic and Deepak taught it nicely on how to get traffic from SEO.

Now, comes the Facebook ads week (week Ninth) where Deepak will teach you how to run Facebook ads effectively to get possible leads.

Deepak has done crores of rupees of Facebook and googles ads (still doing it).

So, he is one of the best people to learn advertisement from.

You will get to know different types of Facebook ads, which you can run according to your business need.

Facebook is also called outbound advertisement where you reach out to people in their newsfeed to show ads.

But it’s one of the most effective tools to generate leads and Deepak will teach the most basic tools and techniques available in Facebook ads, to help you get started and run ads.

Now, comes the Tenth week, which is about Google ads.

Unlike Facebook ads, Google ads have both outbound and inbound marketing.

It is inbound marketing by means of showing ads, depending on what people search on Google. This means that Google can bring highly interested buyers to any business when done correctly.

It also has outbound marketing by means of showing ads during youtube streaming, display ads, banners, etc.

So, Deepak will teach you how you can leverage these different ad techniques of Google Ads to get more leads and sales for any business.

Then in the eleventh week, comes the marketing automation part.

If you are already on the email list of Deepak, you might have seen how Deepak nurtures his email list by sending out emails and forming deep connections.

It feels like he’s talking to you personally through his emails. So, in this Deepak will teach some of the basic techniques to start with automation using email marketing tools, zapier, etc.

Any business needs to learn automation to grow exponentially and Deepak will teach you to get started in automation.

Now, here comes the last week – Sales and copywriting, in the twelfth week.

I think copywriting and sales are the most important part of marketing as without convincing your prospective customer, you can’t grow your business at all.

So, Deepak will teach you some of the best techniques to write a sales copy so that you will increase the chances of convincing your prospective customer and get some sales.

Copywriting is one technique that is used in all parts of marketing – from social media to ads.

Because without a convincing copy, you will not be able to convince your customer and you will not get sales.

So, Deepak will share some of the best copywriting tips to help you get started on it.

Deepak will share those 7 triggers of sales and how you can use them in copywriting to increase the chances of getting more sales.

This is one of the most important weeks if you really want to grow as a true marketer without being pushy to your customers.

Then comes some bonus weeks where Deepak will teach you stuff like getting a job as a marketer, getting freelancing gigs, etc., which will help you apply your skills for someone else.

Bonus week may extend up to sixteenth week.

You will definitely get one of the great experiences in this internship and get to meet some of the awesome like-minded people in the community.

This internship is for all levels of marketer..

For beginners, it can a great starting point as this internship will touch upon all techniques of marketing.

And for expert marketers, who are not sure how they can grow as a marketer, this internship will give you a good path to follow and grow as a marketer.

If you want to apply to it free of charge then apply here.

Top 7 takeways from class two (including a customer avatar)

As a batch 3 intern, I attended the second class. These are the following things I learned:-

1. Marketing is all about having a good conversation.

If you are able to make a good 1:1 conversation then you can easily do 1:many also.

Two girls having 1:1 conversation

You have to do a good conversation as you converse to your good old friends. For eg- whenever I talk to my college friends, I usually can talk about anything under the sun without being judged.

And come to think about, that’s how you really should be talking in marketing also.

2. Be authentic to communicate better.

Most of the time our society always tries to tell us the “right” way of doing things. Like never talk back, always respect your elders. Never fight, think about your reputation., etc.

But somewhere along the line, you build up your own fake personas to follow those so-called “rules” of the society.

This comes in the way of communicating your real self.

Plus people are already tired of fake people with social personas. So, they don’t feel that connection from you.

So, be authentic in communication. Try to show your true self.

For eg – I really felt a connection with Deepak when he joked around the engineering part and having “girlfriends’.

Because he was being authentic and showing his true self.

And as an engineer, I had also experienced that sitting in the backbench part while having no girlfriends,  even though I was from Computer science.

Deepak Kanakaraju– an authentic communicator

3. How to be a better marketer?

Unlike any other profession, marketing is one profession where you don’t need to have a formal professional experience. You can be a better marketer just by having more life experiences.

Children playing in the water, having a great experience.

This may include Traveling anywhere in the world, or Learning new languages, or maybe trying social work or Joining new meetup groups.

Do new things all the time.

Read all kinds of books including feminism, religion, etc., especially on a topic you hate the most.

In the end, try not to have a strong opinion of any subject. Be open to change your mindset.

4. About target audience

Always define your specific target audience.

This includes their goals and values.

Their demographics (name, age, gender, marital status, age of children, etc.), challenges or pain points they are facing, their main sources of information, and possible objections they might have with your product.

Then think of your target audience as a single person, while writing for them.

At the end of the day, everyone is alone with their device. So, try to join the conversation already having in their mind.

A guy using his phone alone

That’s why email/messaging is the most powerful way to communicate.

5. Say no to complex words or jargon.

Simple words appeal to the masses. And that’s what you want to do to build MassTrust.

Maybe, that’s why Donald Trump won the US election using his “make America great again” speeches.

Donald Trump Meme

So, the quickest way to join the conversation already having in your customer’s mind is to always use simple words.

6. Grow your business profitable and predictably using the Law of Large Numbers.

During the internship class, Deepak sir also introduced an interesting theorem, called – Law of large numbers.

So, what is the Law of Large Numbers? And how it’s connected to growing your business?

Well, according to Wikipedia, “According to the law, the average of the results obtained from a large number of trials should be close to the expected value and will tend to become closer to the expected value as more trials are performed.”

In simple terms, you can predict your revenue growth in your business, as you collect a large amount of sales data.

Let me give you a simple example.

A person doing a sales call

Suppose your team of 100 salespeople make 10,000 calls per month.

And out of 10,000 calls, only 10% gets converted into a client.

So, if you kept the number of salespeople constant in the coming months, then your salespeople will always convert around 10% of clients only, for every 10,000 calls.

The same thing applies to your Facebook and Google ads campaign metrics.

And this is how you can predict your revenue growth.

For more information, read this awesome article from DigitalDeepak.

7. Customer Avatar

Being an eCommerce enthusiast, I decided to survey an average online buyer.
And from my survey, I got 10 responses.

No of survey responses

Out of which, 50% of the online buyers are aged 25-30.

Percentage of age group

60% of online buyers are male.

Percentage of gender

Most of them (30%) are from Bangalore, followed by Kolkata (20%).

Percentage of city

And 40% of them don’t check anything after waking up. But 30% of them do check email. So, email is still the best medium, I suppose.

Percentage of checking thing first

90% of them shop from amazon. So, Amazon’s investment in India is paying off, I guess.

Percentage of the online shop

And 50% of them use an app to shop online.

Percentage of medium

While Cash on delivery is still being preferred by 30% of the buyers, online buyers are also preferring debit card more (30%) to make payments.

Percentage of preferred payment method

60% of the buyers shop for electronics, followed by clothes (50%).

Percentage of items shopped

On average, online buyers prefer to spend ₹1000- ₹5000 per order.

Percentage of money spent

And 60% of them expect to ship in 2-5 days.

Percentage of expected shipping days

And lastly, reviews (30%) and brand (30%) is the number one reason for influencing the buyer’s decision.

Percentage of buyer's influence

So, my customer avatar is as follows:-

Ramu is a 25-30 years old male, from Bangalore city. He checks his email first in the morning.

He got an email from his favorite shopping site – amazon, regarding the limited time sale on trendy clothes.

He then opens up his amazon app to shop. After checking the brand and reviews, he bought ₹2000 jeans using his debit card. He expects his jeans to ship in 2-5 days.

Conclusion

In class 2 of the internship, I learned a lot about customer avatar and how it’s useful to know your customer before planning literally anything.

Before leaving, please feel free to comment below your learnings.

And check out my survey here.

Top 10 takeaways from class one

As a batch 3 internship member, I had our first class. These are the following things I learned:-

1. Finding your goal.

Your main goal is to improve your communication and sales skills. Having these skills will help you sell better and improve your product.

And also have one side goal. For eg – Blogger, video maker, affiliate marketer, agency owner, grow your business, start a movement, or get a job.

My goal is to improve my brand image by producing great content. Then it will help me get more clients in eCommerce or get a high paying job and make more money.

2. Few words about the economy.

The market needs always expand because the new solution gives rise to new problems.

So, there are many niches available to choose from.

When the average age in a country is between 25-50 years, many start spending money, get jobs, make family, etc. So, average spending in the economy increases, and the economy develops.

But if the average age in a country goes above 50 years, household spending goes down and the economy goes into recession.

Therefore, we will have 100 billionaires from southeast Asian countries, and china where the average age is between 25-50 years.

And therefore, Japan is slowly going under recession as their average age is 48 years.

Debt creates money. Because when someone takes a loan from a bank, they deposit in another bank. So, the cash circulation goes up, and then the economy goes up.

The economy goes down when people start repaying their debt. Because cash circulation starts shrinking. So, the recession with deflation happens.

Never worry about recession as long as you can give value.

Big companies survive and small companies fail in recession.

Read books like economics 101, Currency war, Raghuram Rajan, Paul Krugman, and Adam Smith – the wealth of nation, to understand economics.

3. Few awesome things I learned from economics 101 after reading 25% of the book.

Economic theory assumes that “nothing else changes”, and people are inherently rational and selfish. True altruism doesn’t exist.

Everything you do has an opportunity cost and comparative advantage.

And this is the best one.

The currency like the US Dollar, Indian Rupees, Japanese Yen, etc.,  are all inconvertible fiat.

This means that we use them as money because our government SAYS so and we all AGREE on it. So, our money circulation is dependent on a FAITH of value that a single piece of paper holds. MIND-BLOWN!

That’s why we have institutions like RBI to control the printing and flow of money. Otherwise, if we overprint our money, the currency loses its value.

For eg – When countries like Zimbabwe overprinted their money, their inflation sky-rocketed.

So, don’t get too attached to the money. It’s just a single piece of paper dependant on faith. Focus on providing long-lasting value. The money will flow accordingly.

4. Communication skill is important.

It helps in content creation, sales, and becoming a successful professional or entrepreneur.

There are ways you can improve your communication skills.

Start with reading 30 minutes a day.

For eg- During my 11th and 12th standards, I used to read English newspapers daily, which I got from school. And while reading it, I used to search every difficult word in the dictionary. And that’s how I improve my English.

Then start thinking everything in English (yes, everything).

Listen to an English podcast, 30 minutes a day. Check “Google Podcasts”.

Write a lot. The more you write the better you get. Aim for at least 500 words a day.

Watch English sitcoms like breaking bad, Friends, office, big bang, etc.

You will learn about their culture and local slang. This will help you talk to people and make more meaningful connections.

5. About digital marketing.

Digital marketing will never die because marketing will never die

As needs and the products go up, we will always need better ways to market them.

The world is moving towards digital. Consumer behavior is changing.

Digital marketing is nothing but marketing with added technology. It’s just a better way of doing marketing.

You start by building some content, which attracts some people to form a tribe.

Then you do SEO to get some traffic.

Then you do social media marketing to engage with your tribe.

Then you use email marketing to nurture your leads.

And then finally you do PAID ads to amplify every step.

Connected Marketing Channels

6. Selecting your niche.

Your niche is a combination of your passion, talent, and market opportunity.

Have passion, enjoy doing it, get better at it, and enjoy doing it even more.

The 3 major niches are health, wealth, and relationship (+fashion).

In the end, your goal is to get 1,000 customers, who will pay 10,000 rupees, to earn you 1 crore rupees.

7. Finding market demand.

You can gauge the market demand by typing your keyword in Google auto-suggest or answerthepuble.com.

You can also read amazon review or google my business reviews to know your customer pain points.

Read comments on famous blogs related to your niche.

You can even search conference or online course on your favorite niche. Having an online course or conference would means that people are ready to pay to learn about that niche.

You can select your niche in Pre/post products/services also.

For eg- For getting a girlfriend – what would someone need to do before getting a girlfriend (PRE).

Or what would someone need to do to keep the relationship strong (POST)?

You can also scratch your own itch. Do this by identifying your needs. Then confirm whether other people also have that need or not.

Or talk to customers by going directly into the market.

8. Build a personal brand.

The best known will always beat the best.

Do not have the fear of standing out or putting content out. Stop trying to fit in.

Show your character and personality on social media freely.

Publish in different forms. Eg – video, audio, blog post, images, etc.

As you produce more content, you get to own more of the internet.

Then more people will get to know you.

And in the end, you get more potential customers or clients.

9. Benefits of a personal brand.

You get your own style and tribe.

People always want to hear from people not from brands. And the personal brand is a perfect solution for that.

You can get a job, close a client, or build your own consulting/training business.

It’s cool to be known by other people.

Build your own fame within a community.

So, write, publish videos, do public speaking, etc., to do personal branding.

10. Marketing funnel- the most basic thing you need to sell effectively.

Move the free line. Start with giving free content then charge a little bit for paid content.

Build trust through the funnel while making it automated.

Even build relationships on automation.

Get 1,000,000 people at the top of the funnel to get your 1,000 leads at the bottom of the funnel.

And achieve your goal of earning 1 crore rupees.

Build a brand ambassador by over-delivering. (like Digital Deepak’s first batch of interns are his brand ambassador).

Marketing Funnel

Example of a basic funnel:-

When a visitor visits your website and bounced back without buying anything, the visitor enters your funnel. This is the AWARENESS stage because your visitor gets some awareness about your product.

You then use Facebook Pixel or Google analytics to tag the visitor and show them relevant ads everywhere. This is based on what product they visited on your website.

This is the DESIRE stage of the funnel because you are trying to get purchase desire from your visitor.

In the end, if the visitor buys from you by clicking on any of the ads, then it’s the ACTION stage of the funnel. Because the visitor has taken your desired action.

You can see this in action while visiting amazon.in. When you visit a particular product page in Amazon, you might see the ad of that product.

This happens on every subsequent website you will visit. They even show ads on all your favorite mobile apps too. Because they are trying to get purchase desire from you.

Now, of course, you can make the funnel more complex by adding more stages. Usually, you use social media posts to do that.

In the end, your aim is to build more trust by showing them relevant content, your potential customer desires.

In the post COVID world, skepticism will be an all-time high.

So, great marketers around the world are changing their marketing strategies to nurture their leads. They are doing this by giving them high-quality education-based content for free. This will help build more trust in their potential customer to buy.

For eg – Hubspot, a well-known marketing software, did a webinar on “Marketing in post-COVID” to give tips on postCovid marketing.

This will help marketers from all around the world to build more trust in Hubspot. And ultimately, a few markets might try the Hubspot software.

Conclusion.

In the first class, I learned a lot. I am excited to learn more in subsequent classes.

Thank you Digital Deepak for organizing this.

Ecommerce Landing Page Optimization: The beginner’s guide to optimize your landing page and get more conversions. (March 2020 Updated)

Today I’m going to show you can optimize your landing page and get more conversion.

I remember when I first started to learn about learning page optimization I’d go from blog post to forum thread trying to understand how landing page optimization actually worked. It was super confusing and frustrating.

And in this no-nonsense guide, I’ll cut out all the noise and BS and show you exactly how to start optimizing your landing pages.

The Topic Overview

What is Landing Page Optimization, exactly?”

Landing Page Optimization is the process of making design, content and other stuff on your Landing Page as effective as possible. It is the process of continuous improvement of your Landing Page to make more profit. You’re spending a lot of time and money on it, and that’s exactly why you need to optimize it more.

For example, let’s say you have a Landing Page on Hiking Sticks. So, you have to optimize the design and content of that Hiking Stick landing page so that you can get more revenue from that page.

Split Testing is one of the ways we optimize our landing pages.

Incoming traffic to the website is distributed between the original (control) and the different variations without any of the visitors knowing that they are part of an experiment. And in the end, we conclude our winning Landing page:

A/B Test

Now that you understand what Landing Page Optimization is, it’s time for me to explain more about how to get started with it:

Steps

Know your audience

Your first step with Landing Page Optimization is actually to analyze and put yourself in your target audience’s shoes to figure out exactly what is going on.

Because the fact is unless you have enough data about your target audience, it’s going to be very difficult to optimize your landing pages, which will actually convert.

Here’s exactly how to do it:

First, do a Quantitative analysis of your target audience.  This starts with Google Analytics audits to review our top goals and our top landing pages.

Go to Behaviour -> Site Content -> All Pages, to check which pages have higher than 70% Bounce Rate (high bounce rates lead to low conversion):

Next, do qualitative analysis. This will help you understand the pains, problems, and desires of your target audience.

It starts with tools like UserTesting – where you can watch users/visitors travel through your site to understand exactly.

For example, through UserTesting, you will be able to know whether the popup you are using is effective or just plain ugly:

Also, use heatmap software, like Crazyegg, or Inspectlet to see specifically where people are clicking and get a detailed summary:

CrazyEgg Heatmap

Finally, use tools like Survey Monkey to review specific feedback customers and potential customers give us. It can be added to many areas of your websites to automate the collection of qualitative feedback:

Survey Monkey

This takes some work, but it’s the only way to get more conversion from your landing page.

At this point, you will get some knowledge of collecting valuable data about your target audience. Next, we’ll start by creating a hypothesis from the valuable data we collected.

Hypothesis

Your second step is to create a hypothesis from the data we collected. We prioritized a plan to make the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time

Because the fact is, we’ll use data and facts to come up with educated guesses. Then we’ll outline an experiment to test the hypothesis and discuss how the results might impact the website.

Let’s get started on this:

First, according to ConversionXL.com do observe 3 things:-

  • Who is your target audience? For eg- We may observe that the target customer for https://shop.byjus.com/ will mostly be students, aged 5 to 25, who are here to achieve their career and academic goals.

Byju Product Page
  • What action do you want them to take? For eg- You may want the visitors to add a course to the cart and complete checkout or at least want them to contact https://byjus.com/contact-us/ for more info:

Byju Contact Us Page
  • What action do they want to take? For eg- Visitors may want to take a course and be guaranteed that they would pass the test. Otherwise, they may want their money back

Next, do observe the process which causes the above observation. For eg- http://www.arngren.net/ is too cluttered and there is no clear way to categorize the products. So, users may find it difficult to get to a specific product and complete checkout:

Arngren.net Homepage

http://www.arngren.net is also not mobile-friendly. So, mobile users may have a hard time browsing that website:

Also, determine how you will track success for the experiment.

Set up goals like conversion rate you want ((Visits to the thank you Page)/(total website visitors)), revenue per visitor and engagement rate you aim for.

Finally, create a list of prioritized tests based on everything you observed. For eg:-

Now, you made your hypothesis and listed out your tests. Next, we actually start to execute our plan based on the hypothesis we created.

Execution

Your third step is to begin executing the plan we hypothesized. This is one of the most time-consuming sections of the process.

Let’s begin:

First, create mockups for a split test using that list of prioritized tests you made in the previous step.

Mockups are usually a wireframe, which is simply a black-and-white skeleton of a web page. And split-tests (or A/B Test) are created to know the best version from 2 webpages.

Next, turn the wireframes into color designs using Photoshop perfectly and code it using HTML. And test those webpages using Google Ads split test or Google Optimize.

Finally, set goals for your tests including Conversion, Revenue, and Clicks goals. Always test one element per split test.

And it’s recommended to test until each webpage/variation gets a minimum of 100 sales or 250 leads.

Split Test - Getting Winning Page

Now, you know how to execute the hypothesis. Next, we will review the results we got from the split test.

Review

Your fourth step is to review the data from the finished tests and check if the winning webpage will really help in the long term growth of your business.

For eg- Consider factors like how difficult will it be to implement into the production website? Or check whether the winning webpage will produce the same results for all segments, on any device, before implementing it.

Now, after reviewing the results, next, we move on to our final step, which will lead to the long-term growth of your business.

Long-term growth

Your final step is to really grow your business and make more money.

For eg- If a new landing page headline helps increase conversion by 20 percent, we can then take that headline and create PPC ads with it.

Or use your winning landing page image in all your PPC ads too.

Now, this ends our steps to effectively optimize your landing page.
